I’d always considered, until fairly recently, this to be laziness on my part-or possibly a reaction to a low boredom threshold. I spend every waking moment absorbing knowledge, however, my insatiable appetite for knowledge seems quenched once I’ve absorbed the ‘actionable' essence of each subject. I’m far more inclined to call myself a generalist than a specialist.
I may not be able to work out the surface viscosity of jam, but I’m the one people go to when the lid needs to come off.
