Colin, I realize you are trying to promote a middle ground but some of this seems like excuses. Your first point — how long are young voters going to be excused for wanting to be heard, but ignoring the basic tenets of how the system works? 2nd — this wasn’t a “party” thing with Kloppenburg. This was an opportunity to show that it isn’t party but issues that matter. If these voters are dedicated to a cause, then they should be educating themselves about their own issues. And 3rd — the vitriol goes both ways. I agree. But the Bernie supporters I see tend to take out their disagreement with Hillary in a personal way. And that’s wrong. I was particularly disgusted when I saw a Bernie debate watch party titled “Bern the Bitch”. Not Bernie’s fault, I know that. But most Hillary supporters argue in an issue oriented way not personally. I think that Bernie’s reluctance to use his fundraising power to help Senators and Congressional people running for the same purpose, is an issue worth raising and discussing. Maybe you feel the discussion about the Supreme Court loss is ridiculous, I think of it as an educational point worth noting. Just my couple of cents.
