San Luis Obispo, August 5, 2022 — San Luis Obispo Mayor, Erica A. Stewart has announced her candidacy for the November 8th, San Luis Obispo 2022 Municipal Election. On August 8th, 2022, at 10:00 AM (PST) Erica A. Stewart will launch a collection featuring 2,022 unique digital assets on the Polygon Mainnet priced at $25. 100% of all NFT contributions will be put towards Erica’s campaign.

The official artwork is designed by African artist Abbey Onikoyi. Raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Abbey is a descendant of Nigerian royalty. From living in San Luis Obispo since 2002, Abbey’s community goal is to bring people together to learn and experience music.

Erica A. Stewart has teamed up with NeXGen Labs to implement an NFT fundraising strategy for her upcoming campaign on the Polygon MATIC Mainnet. The Polygon platform operates on the Ethereum blockchain, connecting Ethereum-based projects. Polygon is a Layer 2 solution created to help scale the Ethereum blockchain. This layer 2 scaling solution helps increase transaction speed and reduce gas fees while providing security and decentralization to the mainnet. Essentially, Polygon acts as a series of chains or side chains running alongside the Ethereum blockchain to improve overall efficiency. NeXGen Labs has chosen Polygon due to its fast transaction speeds, minimal gas fees, and network benefits from the strong security Ethereum.

Due to the California ban on political cryptocurrency donations, this NFT will only be available to mint with United States Dollars (USD). You can pay with a Credit/Debit card, as well as Apple Pay. Once the initial transaction is complete, please allow up to 48 hours until you receive your NFT in the corresponding wallet address. NeXGen Labs will be airdropping the NFT to your wallet in an effort to reduce gas fees. Polygon enables us to send NFT’s at a fraction of a cost, compared to the high Ethereum gas fees. This will all be done on a fast, secure, and decentralized network.
