We all have them. We can come up with a million reasons why we can’t do something. We’re too tired, too busy, not motivated enough. We can make up any excuse to avoid doing something we don’t want to do.

But are excuses really worth it? Are they worth letting ourselves down, letting others down? Are they worth not trying, not achieving our goals?

Why do we make excuses?

There are many different reasons why we might make excuses. Sometimes, we might do it because we’re trying to avoid taking responsibility for something we’ve done wrong. Other times, we might make excuses because we’re not sure how to deal with a difficult situation and we’re looking for an easy way out.

Whatever the reason, making excuses is never a good idea. It can damage our relationships with other people, it can make us look bad and it can stop us from achieving our goals.

If you want to be successful, you need to learn to overcome the urge to make excuses and find a way to face up to the challenges in your life. You can do this by setting realistic goals, planning for setbacks and learning how to deal with criticism.
