Home of the Brave
So how do we try to make each other hear ourselves? I know, it sounds weird, but really. Why is the right so right and the left so left? And, most importantly, why is either way always right? Aren’t we the “land of the free and the home of the brave,” after all? I think, no by now, I can honestly say, we have lost our way.
I’m from a “split family” (meaning one side is republican, and the other is democratic), so I’ve had an uphill battle for most of my life. But, really, it helped me make my own decisions, and it helped me know more. I knew about both sides of the argument, and I do think it’s important that everyone does in order to make an educated opinion. Because really, how can you make a judgment on anything not having actually listened to the other side?
I’ve tried to believe in our democracy in this election, but I really feel defeated. It’s full of lies. It’s full of hypocrisy. It’s making our county NOT GREAT again. Why are we moving backwards?
I hope that if there’s someone out there who agrees or disagrees with me actually has a basis to back it up. Because I feel like the majority of our country follows what they don’t know. I am open, so please — bring it on!
And, to everyone, please remember… we became this amazing nation because we were built on the values that we would be the “home of the free, and the land of the brave.” So, stand up, say what you think. But wait- and sorry i’m not sorry — you can’t do that if you haven’t done your homework. You have to actually know. You have to actually believe in a real better America the Beautiful.
