Development Update 009 — Gladius Partnership & Buy-Back Changes
Welcome to another development update for this week — update number nine. We have some exciting news to share with you all regarding a new partnership and some small changes to the buy-back program.
We have decided to partner with Gladius for our platforms DDoS protection.
Gladius is the decentralized solution to protecting against DDoS attacks by allowing you to connect to protection pools near you to provide better protection and accelerate your content
Our platform is currently using Cloudflare for security and Fastly for CDN. When version 2.0 is released in mid to end of Q1 2018, we’ll migrate over to Gladius DDoS protection, and possibly the CDN services too, paired with Storj (closer to mid of 2018).
Gladius has agreed to have our platform, Social, as one of their first partnerships. We look forward to integrating their security features in to our newest version in the coming months.
You can find out more regarding Gladius, along with their upcoming ICO, below.
We also want to share some small changes to the buy-back program. As you all know, we plan on purchasing back 5% of all SCL within the first 72 hours of it hitting a major exchange. If the price of SCL rises dramatically during this period, we may have to reduce our position to stop the spend of the buy-back exceeding $800,000 USD equivalent in ETH/BTC. If the price increases by that much for us to stop buying, the buy-back would have done it’s job since the price of SCL would most likely exceed the price of $1.00-$1.50 USD per coin.
