Our 2018 Marketing Plans

Since there is not too much to share this week regarding our development updates, we decided to share some plans on what we’ll be doing early next year to help the growth of our new platform and to raise awareness for SCL.

Sure, we could create a development update post stating “we completed this API” and “we finished this component” and “our auth server is almost done”, although it would most certainly bore most people!

So as most of you know we are planning our launch of version 2.0 inside of Q1 2018 as stated in one of our previous blog posts. Although we have had a few questions from members in the community regarding how we plan on marketing the platform to attract users. We will be performing many different digital marketing approaches, both traditional and modern. Here is a list that we will be implementing come early 2018.

Traditional Digital Ads

We’ll be running with the traditional approach of having ads on popular social networking and cryptocurrency/blockchain sites. This worked very well during the token sale and should allow us to raise awareness for the platform once it’s live.

The only downside to this approach is the cost. Ads on popular cryptocurrency websites can exceed six digits if run for many weeks on end. We will test this method first to see if the reward exceeds the costs.

Competitions

Hosting competitions to see who can bring the most new users to Social and who can get the most activity on posts and community posts. Giveaways will include items such BTC, Ledger Nano S and Trezor.

Publications

Reaching out to more news sites for publications. After we were featured in TheNextWeb, our user base exploded since the article went viral on all social media channels. It was shared online more than 11,200 times.

We’ll reach out to more cryptocurrency and blockchain based news websites to have new publications done to further raise awareness for our platform within the industry.

Video Production

Producing more videos made for our YouTube channel and promoting them via YouTube and Facebook ads. This type of digital marketing worked very well for us during the token sale, so we believe that promoting a new animated one minute video could help attract new users to Social.

Our main promotional video has almost 50,000 views on YouTube.

Organic Promotions

We have been in contact with a few popular YouTube channels that feature blockchain based products like ours. We may get these channels to promote Social to see how successful it is. This method usually has high costs, so we will trial it on a few channels first to see if the amount of users signing up is worth the money.

Other organic promotions that we are considering are bloggers, influencers and other social media networks.

Expos and Conferences

We have a few cryptocurrency/blockchain based conferences in mind for early next year. We’ll grab the entire team and attend some popular mainstream events shortly after the release of version 2.0.

We may also sponsor some events to have our logo and branding around the conference.

All marketing material will be targeted towards our initial audience, being blockchain and cryptocurrency users/enthusiasts. We’ll branch out to broader audiences once the platform has matured more and is making revenue.
