Wow! I had never considered the environmental model before, but now it makes so much sense! Obviously we as humans want to interact with designs that mirror our natural surroundings. I like how you talk about the psychological aspect of this. It reminds me of how when I’m at work and I sit near the middle of the building and there’s no windows, sunlight or scenery of trees — and I start to feel anxious and uncomfortable with my surroundings. But when I sit by the window and I can see sunlight and nature, I feel so much more content. This made me start to think that architects and others who design and build buildings should also focus on an environment-based design. I think the environment model could be applied to many other types of design.
