Steps
1: Downloading the Image
The challenge provided a link to download an image file.
2. Analyzing the Image Metadata
I started by using ExifTool to inspect the image’s metadata, but unfortunately, there wasn’t any useful information to be found.
3: Searching for Hidden Text with Strings
Next, I decided to use the strings command to search for any hidden text strings within the image file. This tool is useful for uncovering embedded flags or hints that might be hidden as plain text within files.
4: Discovering the Flag
To my surprise, the flag appeared in the very last line of the output:
