Minneapolis City Council is currently considering whether to approve a new MPD contract for 2020–2022.

In the images below, red highlighting indicates deleted/removed text, whereas green highlighting indicates new/added text.

The 2017–2019 contract can be found here. A copy of the proposed contract can be found at this Star Tribune article.

(Just an FYI for people looking for it: Absolutely no changes were made to the discipline or grievance sections. Which is why I’ve asked my Council Member to reject it. But that’s neither here nor there.)

Added: Addition of a sentence to the preamble, that the City and Union agree that the new contract is for the “mutual benefit” of the City to provide the “highest level of services.”

Removed: in Article 2, the section regarding Fair Share Fee Reductions.

Added: in Article 10, an acknowledgement that the Union supports the City’s efforts to “advance race and gender equity.”
