Create a digital creative concept of your choice in either image of video format — or both — to demonstrate your skills in hands-on marketing. The demo can be as brief as you like if it demonstrates your skill set. For Trifecta platform (DealDash, Total Trivia, KO Trivia, or Lucky Draw).

So the first thing I started to do was research the company. All the platforms they have, all their videos they’ve made to search for ideas.

Introduction

Deal Dash, like other auction sites, has been described as a gamified approach to e-commerce. To participate, registered bidders first buy “bids” priced at $0.60 each, that they may spend bidding on auctions.

DealDash is a bidding fee auction site. DealDash was founded in 2009 by William Wolfram, a 16-year-old Finnish entrepreneur.

The company’s business model, as with prior sites, is that customers enter a bidding process where they pay for each bid on an item, regardless of whether they succeed or not. Each bid marginally increases the price of the item until the end of the auction, at which point the item is sold to the final bidder. Deal Dash differs from predecessors mainly in that losing bidders are given an option to apply money they had spent unsuccessfully bidding on an item towards purchasing the item at a posted retail price.

Research

So I searched their website and I knew that they are celebrating their 10 years anniversary. That is why I came up with two digital marketing campaign ideas about their anniversary.

  • Time: 10 years anniversary.
  • Goals: Gain new users & increase traffics to the website.
  • Metrics: 1000 new organic site visitors be the end of the campaign.

Marketing Concept & Channels

Concept:

FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out

Channels:

  • Display advertising.
  • Web-banners.
  • Email marketing.
  • Street banners.

Strategy

  • Create interaction web-banners for the website.
  • Create pop-up countdown for “Deal Dash Anniversary Week”
  • Email marketing for new users subscribed.
  • Have some street banners to advertising.

Every day has a different promotions for customers to choose. It can be the sales bids or free bids for customers for auction bidding.

For example: 19,20,21 of March — users can go to the website and claim free 10 bids each day => create the habits to go the website and increase traffics to the website.

Receive 7 bids for 7 days immediately. Each day customers can receive 1 free bid for 7 days straight along with advertisements from Deal Dash through email.

Conclusion

There is a major factor to help determine between me and other candidates. That is video editing experience which I did not have any at that time. Until today, I try to learn more new skills everyday. However, I am really appreciated the assignment to learn about the recruitment process and received feedback from recruiters.

It was a pleasure to learn more about your skills and accomplishments. It proved quite a battle with many potential candidates, including you, and I regret to inform you that this time we ended up moving forwards with other candidates. The determining factor separating these candidates from others were superb video editing skills which we considered crucial for the job. While we were impressed by your graphical expertise, we felt that currently we needed someone with prior video experience.
