If you’re not sure how to code anything, it may be time for you to use a game engine. Game engines come in many forms which range from free and open-source to commercial purchases.

Godot

Godot is an open-source, cross-platform game engine and aims to offer a fully integrated game development environment. It allows developers to create a game, needing no other tools beyond those used for content creation (visual assets, music, etc.).

Godot can be used to create games for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Android, and iOS. It currently supports 3D graphics (provided by OpenGL), 2D graphics (using its own rendering engine).

Godot supports a variety of programming languages for making games, including the integrated language GDScript, C++, and C#. Additionally, the engine includes GDNative, a facility for creating bindings with other languages. Visual coding is also supported, via the built-in language VisualScript, designed to be a visual equivalent to GDScript.

Godot provides a huge set of common tools, so you can just focus on making your game without reinventing the wheel.

Gdevelop

GDevelop is a 2D cross-platform, free and open-source game engine, which mainly focuses on creating PC and Mobile games, as well as HTML5 games playable in the browser.

One of GDevelop’s primary goals is to allow creators to make full video games without using any programming languages. Although GDevelop’s primary focus is using the event system to enable development without any programming language code, a Javascript Code block can also be used in place of any event

With GDevelop, you can make simple projects for fun, create ambitious indie games.GDevelop supports AdMob, Shopify, and Facebook Ads allowing for advertising in the form of video, banner, interstitial screen, and link to purchase

UPBGE

UPBGE (Uchronia Project Blender Game Engine)is an open-source, 3D game engine forked from the old Blender Game Engine and deployed with Blender itself. This unified workflow is its main strength, as you can make your game from start to finish without leaving Blender.
