Rust and Rusty Things

Greetings to my non-existent follower base.
The last few weeks here at HYCON, we’ve been working on oxidising our codebase, with pretty successful results so far. The migration of our code from Typescript to Rust is giving us a chance to really dig deep and optimise, to take advantage of some of Rust’s more interesting features, as well as critically evaluate our existing data structures.
Quote of the Week
“Sorry (developer whose name I will not mention), I think the Rust compiler is smarter than you are”
Progress So Far
Traits are really interesting, and implementing shared traits between structures really allows for flexibility and generalisation. There have been several arguments with the compiler, which the compiler invariably wins. For a lot of us here Rust is a new language so getting to grips with the required structure is half the battle.
Next On The List
