Write As If You’re Already Dead.

I’m reminded of a scripture verse… “they overcame because they loved not their lives onto death’ (or words to that effect) and I’m sure a verse much misunderstood but I personally feel its about EGO-DEATH ie its about getting breakthrough in all sorts of ways by letting go that “fragile armour” you mention which we erroneously think protects us (as if!). Yet as you infer it only actually causes us to lose out on the emotional connection we might gain through vulnerability and honesty. Brene Brown writes well on this theme. And so do you — Thanks Lawrence. I hope I have the courage to shed the shell.
