1. National Overseas Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe Students

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs offers the scheme Of National Overseas Scholarship for ST students to pursue higher education at masters and Ph.D. levels. This scholarship is applicable for the fields of Management, Engineering, Finance/Economics, Applied Science, Medicine, Agriculture, Social Science, and Humanities. Here are the eligibility criteria for the same:

• An applicant must have 55% in the relevant field for masters.

• An applicant should be below 35 years of age.

• The family income of the applicant should be below 6 Lakhs per year.

2. National Overseas Scholarship for Scheduled Caste Students

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment provides nearly 100 awards under the National Overseas Scholarship program to the students belonging to the Scheduled Caste. This scholarship is applicable to pursue a master’s or Ph.D. program in the field of Agriculture Science and Medicine, Pure Sciences and Applied Sciences, Engineering and Management, Social Science, and Fine Arts. Here are the eligibility criteria for the same:

• An applicant must have 55% in the relevant master’s degree.

• An applicant should be below 35 years of age.

• The family income of the applicant should be below 6 Lakhs per year.

3. Dr. Ambedkar Central Scheme of Interest Subsidy on Educational Loans for Overseas Studies

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment offers Dr. Ambedkar Central Scheme of Interest Subsidy on Educational Loans for Overseas Studies for the students belonging to OBC and the EBC category. Under this scheme, the ministry offers interest subsidies to the meritorious students to pursue a Masters, M.Phil, and Ph.D., and over 50% of seats are reserved for the girl child.

Eligibility Criteria:

• An applicant should have secured admission in an overseas university for a master’s degree, postgraduate diploma, M. Phil, or Ph. D program.
• The family income of the applicant should be below 2.5 Lakhs per year.

4. Padho Pardesh

Padho Pradesh is a scholarship scheme that is implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to provide interest subsidies to the students belonging to the minority communities like Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Jains, Parsis, etc. This scholarship is to pursue a degree program at Master’s, M.Phil, or Ph.D. level.

Eligibility Criteria:

• An applicant should have secured admission in an overseas university for a master’s degree, postgraduate diploma, M. Phil, or Ph. D program.
• The family income of the applicant should be below 6 Lakhs per year.
