Something designers often overlook is that the greatest benefit many such models provide is in the process of creating them and not in the resulting artifact.
This is like the Feynman method of learning. Understand and internalize the concept and you don’t need to memorize the details because understanding allows you to recreate the details at will later.
This is something young designer should remember before burning hours gold plating any representation of a model.
That said its extremely helpful to have guidelines for determining which models are most appropriate for which goals. And even for those of us having been in this game for a long time, its great to have this laid out explicitly!
