One of the sights of Krasnodar is Galitsky Park, also known as Krasnodar Park, or Black and Green, which received its last name thanks to the colors of FC Krasnodar, located on the territory of this very park. This place has no official name as such, which is why there are so many nicknames.

The park was built at the expense of Sergei Galitsky, an entrepreneur, president and owner of the Krasnodar football club, the park was opened on September 28, 2017, and about 4 billion rubles were spent on its construction.

The park has already received one of the awards — in 2019 it became the best park in the Eurasian park awards category of the International large urban parks awards.

A huge number of trees have been planted on the territory of the park, including oak, alder, bonsai, poplar, pine, tulip tree, decorative plum and others. Its area is 22 hectares, which is already twice the size of the Novorossiysk forests. Walking in the park is allowed even on lawns, and there are no bike paths here on purpose — cyclists can eat wherever they want.

Under the benches, which stretch for three and a half kilometers, there is a giant lamp one and a half kilometers long. Lavender blooms here in spring. However, there are some rules that may be somewhat unusual: it is not allowed to walk dogs in the park, since this park is intended primarily for people and children, and, unfortunately, not all owners clean up after the dogs.

The project was developed by an architectural bureau from Germany — GMP International (they were also involved in the development of projects for sports arenas in Krasnodar, Sochi, Berlin, Kyiv, as well as Brazil and South Africa). And Igor Markov, who led the development of the concept of facades, landscaping and modular fencing, acted as the architect of the park. According to him, Galitsky wanted the atmosphere to be like in a theater, only a football one: so that everyone who comes here feels as if they are in another world.

The territory of the park has many walking paths, ponds, and active recreation areas. There is entertainment for every taste and color: a skate park with an area of 1000 m2, a fountain-skating rink, water and musical labyrinths, a rope park, a basketball court, a climbing wall, a cafe. Recently, a restaurant and Bar-hamburger were opened in the park, which became a new investment project of Sergei Galitsky. The chef of the institution is the famous Vladimir Shchepilov. One of the prides of the park is the amphitheater, where various events, concerts and film screenings are held.

Another pride, much larger in scale and referred to among the residents of the city as the “Krasnodar Coliseum” or “Galisee” (combining the name of the creator and the name of the Roman landmark) is the stadium of FC Krasnodar, located right in the park. In 2017, Danila Kozlovsky’s film “Coach” was filmed at this stadium.

The capacity of the bowl of the sports facility is 35,059 seats, of which 3,273 are VIP seats and loggias. According to Sergei Galitsky, the arena will never pay for itself, while the investor does not name the exact amount of money spent.

Welcome to South Russia — Krasnodar!
