The Alchemist — a thought when I turn 29

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

I can’t help thinking that the universe conspired me to read this book: started when I see the ideas and statements from The Alchemist referred in many books I have read, even in online articles on websites I subscribe or follow. Finally, it came to me in an unexpected way — book exchanging network invited by one of my Facebook friend.

The book itself, states only one important idea. It’s THE ONE THING — believe in your dream, listen to your heart, and go for it. Never give up.

“The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

In the age of social media, how can we identify our dream among the flood of the others’ achievements? Sometimes we see people did excellent or fashionable stuff and we can’t help ourselves want to do so. How can we be sure that it is your Personal Legend, not the others’?

After I’ve finished the book and read through the reviews and comments, I can assume that the more you will get from the book depends on cultural background, language and translation quality, age and life experience when you get the messages from the book. Apart from that is subjectivity.

But I’m glad I have read it in 2017.
When I turn 29.
