On the one hand, this is great, I’m happy for you, and yes materialism doesn’t lead to happiness.
On the other hand, I think you may be in for some trouble. I know of a few friends who did what you did, dropped everything, and travelled the world, and they unanimously ended up with the same problem: incredible heavy post travel depression.
Turns out you have addicted your brain to discovering new things and people (that’s he happiness you’ve been feeling), but it’s incredibly hard to maintain that level of discovery, and it’s 100% certain that you can’t maintain it and have kids. If you don’t want kids that’s great but let me tell you not having kids leads people to depression also in their later years.
As a side note, although it’s great that you travelled, I firmly believe the world needs people that are different, people that create rather than travel and consume experiences. I don’t think one is better than the other, but I find happiness in routine, stability, but knowledge consumption and creating things.
Once again, I’m not really criticizing, just opening the view a little to a not black and white picture.
