Productivity’s affair with Entertainment

Just watched all 5 seasons of The Wire in <2 weeks. Undeniably, it stands with 2 maybe 3 series, as the most entertaining I’ve watched.

Problem is—the freedom to watch a show with no commercials or time between episodes and/or seasons—comes with a tendency to murder one’s productivity.

On one hand, it’s devastatingly entertaining; I’m learning about things I before knew little about, e.g. Baltimore crime in the naughts and the perverseness of cronyism in city and state government. Though at the same time, I know there are many other things I can be doing to better myself right before I tap play, kicking off the 3rd hour-long episode of the evening.
