I use Facebook (FB) to post many things. It has of course become a political forum, and there is a lot of creative — albeit often dark — writing and image making going on. I don’t mind that the place can and often does have an edge to it, and I just ignore those who are trolling, insulting or otherwise being jerks, and I trust that if and when I behave this way that others will react similarly.

FB has actually improved my writing skills substantially over the years I have been using it. Why? Because if I am putting something up for others to read, I don’t want it to be poorly written. It has also encouraged me to fact check more frequently, which I hold to be a useful and necessary skill.

Yes, I do spend too much time on FB, and it is addictive, and I don’t resent the time spent there.
