A hypothetical free market healthcare system is nothing more than a thought experiment and never will be. That’s the point of #5.

Insurance plans that cover chemo and other cancer treatment provide economic incentives for screenings, not high deductibles. It saves the company money over the long run.

Expanding Medicaid and regulating what counts as an uninsurable preexisting condition are both government actions, not market reforms. That’s my point. We can let the market leave them uncovered or we can have the government help them get insurance. If we do the latter, it’ll cost money.
