The thing I’d be most worried about with Lonzo’s outside shooting is that he misses left or right of the rim a lot. Great shooters with more traditional form are going to miss 99% of the time short/long and rarely be off left/right. This type of accuracy is all about consistently keeping the ball and shooting hand aligned with your elbow. Lonzo is basically adding an extra variable in terms of ways he can miss when compared to some of the great, more consistent shooters.

That being said, I think a lot of his form has to do with how often he’s taking step back 3s. He might just be more comfortable and can get a quicker shot off this way. Just speculation.
