The women’s game continues to evolve as time passes. The hard work and dedication these ladies put in gives fans the best quality of basketball that has ever been played. Vivian Gray is a player who continues to be smarter with the basketball and shows great leadership on the floor. She seems ecstatic to play her first season for Texas Tech with a new system. Gray will seek to continue momentum and compete at a high level with her new school to close out her collegiate career.

Gray is a talented forward who is very versatile on offense. She demands attention from the defense as teams seek to keep the ball out of her hands. Gray is excellent shooting off the dribble and making pull up jumpers as she shows great body control. Her game revolves around the mid range area as she always seeks to get a quality look. Gray’s tenure playing at Oklahoma State was a golden opportunity to be effective in scoring and set the tone on the floor. Because of that, the team was able to finish the season with a .500 record.

Gray’s defense is another sensational attribute in her game. Using her size to her advantage, Gray is excellent at protecting the basket and was amongst one of the best shot blockers in the Big 12. Gray’s competitive edge forces her to be effective on the defensive side of the ball. Due to her fierce defense, she is very active on the floor, reading every situation that is going on to get a stop. Gray was a key example of what a star player is suppose to be on both ends of the floor.

Gray’s transfer over to Texas Tech is a great sighting to watch. This is a program that seems to finally be going in the right direction for success. The Lady Raiders finished last season with a 17–10 record and finished sixth in the Big 12 standings. With Gray’s offensive skillset, she will look to take the team to another level. Her becoming the dominant offensive player for the team could potentially put them in a position as the best team in the Big 12.

Expect Gray to deliver in a great fashion and play at a high level. Her first few seasons at Oklahoma State was a humbling experience. Now, as a junior, she looks to be one of the veterans of the team who sets the tone both on and off the floor. She will be looked upon by new head Coach Krista Gerlich to be the X-Factor of the team that results in a championship. When it is all said and done, Gray could have the opportunity to have a collegiate career that can be looked back upon as memorable moments.
