Choice & Change

I often forget the importance of choices. We get to choose the story we tell ourselves in our head. We aren’t born leaders. We get to choose leadership. And first follower-ship. We get to choose gratitude, which for me, is just like choosing happiness.

I’ve made some bad choices in the past. The movie I chose to tell myself wasn’t a good one. It didn’t cross my mind to flip the script. I chose to believe that leadership was nature. Ignoring the part where we can nurture it in ourselves. I chose to compare my life to others. Jealousy. I was blind to the gifts in front of me.

And it was all a choice. And now I know. Where there’s choice, there can be change.
