Why is that out of the question? If he won’t change his style, marquee FAs don’t want to play with him and they can’t trade for the assets to actually enable his style to be successful (is this even possible – as Kevin O’Connor pointed out) then they have two options:
1) entertaining but ultimately unsuccessful hero ball with Russ remaining in OKC: no chance of a championship.
2) trade Russ and rebuild with the solid young players you have: at least this offers a chance of a championship.
Someone (Boston? Phillie?) would offer a king’s ransom for him and enable Presti to do the one thing he actually does brilliantly (and it is the only thing); draft elite talent.
This is the ONLY way OKC becomes relevant again.
