My year with a distraction-free iPhone (and how to start your own experiment)
Jake Knapp

Any app I haven’t used for a month gets deleted. This makes phone navigation far faster — and saves a lot of space.

I have no games on it.

Facebook is buried on the third page of my only active folder.

I rarely use Instagram or Twitter (also buried).

I get virtually zero notifications.

I have 1 page of apps — that is all (with 2 folders, 1 for Apple crap, and 1 for occasionally used apps like server notifications, currency conversion, Shazam etc).

Safari, mail etc I need for emergencies or to look things up (Wikipedia).

Works well for me and I waste very little time on my phone (burying Facebook was a big part of that).
