I have built 21+ chatbots for myself and my clients. I’m not an expert, but I’ve read the complete documentations of both Botpress and Voiceflow. Here’s my comparison…

The Ultimate No Code ChatBot

Let’s address the elephant in the room, Botpress or Voiceflow.

1. User Interface:

Botpress is a great No code tool to build chatbots and looks very professional interface. But Voiceflow UI is really good, option to color nodes, move arrows is so cool. With the support for conversational marketing, Voiceflow takes the game to another level.

Winner: Voiceflow

2. Features:

Both platforms provide wide range of features, including support of knowledge base, AI support and pre-build blocks. But non-linear flow of Voiceflow again takes the level to some other realm.

Winner: Voiceflow

3. Beginner friendly:

A lot of newbies are trying to make into the AI game with AI Automation Agency or No code SAAS, hence for very important for a platform to be beginner friendly. Here, the Botpress takes the lead, easier to learn less distraction and quick and intuitive to build on. Voiceflow is a great platform but it include more subtle concepts, entities, topics, intent, components etc are not trivial to grasp for a beginner.

Winner: Botpress

4. Pro Plan:

Botpress provides pay as you go plan, with Free 1000 incoming messages/ month. For a $50 pack you can get additional 10K messages. Voiceflow provides 100K AI tokens, 1 token == 4 chars; and monthly plan $40 for extra 1 million tokens.

Winner: Voiceflow.

4. Integration:

Both the platform provides a wide range of integrations. I personally prefer Voiceflow way of doing it, but no clear winner here. Although, for example, without doing the hack of changing css you can change the bot looks etc. But a coder can argue that botpress css gives better control over everything. Stack-AI and Zapier (mostly what I use) works smooth both ways; a bit easier in Voiceflow.

Winner: Tie

5. Bugs and testing:

I wasted a whole day on Botpress as I was unaware of the Botpress bugs !! If you pre-type the responses the flow goes rouge and the text repeats. Never has this issue with Vocieflow.

Winner: Voiceflow.

Final verdict.

If you are a beginner and have no previous coding experience, then definitely start with Botpress and then move try Voiceflow. But from our side… Voiceflow is a clear winner.
