Obsessed and Dedicated are better than Lazy and Entitled

In a world that is filled with ignorance and greed

How do any of us have a chance to succeed

A nation divided to keep the little man down

And expected to stay quiet and not make a sound

We are destined for greatness with no direction or clarity

As we look ahead confused and unable to see

Unable to see what success truly feels like

An image of Euphoria and living larger than life

Our problem is that we have become so engulfed in our dreams

That we have lost touch of reality and what living life really means

We are born with this purity. This sense of innocence

But we listen to the media. Our family and friends.

To what should be done to reach success

In living life with wealth, fame and excess

We scroll and we scroll through social media pages

To see images and lies of those who said they made it

The hard work and grinding is never posted

Because you can’t take a picture of dedication and devotion

The ones who grind did it in the shadows of the dark

Where the transformation from dreams to reality make their start

Today so many people feel entitled it’s crazy

Their sense of entitlement should just be summed up as lazy

Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated

But really obsession and dedicated are so closely related

Those who reach success may appear to be obsessed

They tend to forge their own paths and not follow like the rest

So before you go on and judge those stuggling to make it

Take a look in the mirror and ask “What makes you so great?”

What gives you the right to provide your opinion?

To someone that is in a place where you’ve never been

Provide words of encouragement and some positive vibes

Or do what you do best and step to the side

Because if you don’t know it by now it is probably too late

I am already succeeding in living life better than great
