The Future Triangle (pay no attention to that man behind the curtain)
The Futures Triangle — A Strategic Foresight Method
One of my favourite movie scenes is from The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy, the scarecrow, the tin man and the cowardly lion have reached the lair of the great Wizard of Oz. While having an audience with the mighty Oz, Dorothy’s little dog Toto uncovers a little old man as the voice behind the wizard. The old man tries to distract them by claiming ‘pay not attention to that man behind the curtain’ (Try searching on the internet for a video with that same phrase)
Why is that interesting?
Well, in this case, I’d like you to listen to that man behind the curtain. I’m sharing a short video with you on a useful strategic foresight method called the Futures Triangle. The method helps you take ideas from different people about the attractions, pressures and weights affecting the future. It’s a method you can try out for yourself when you find you have differing views on the future within a group.
