Why It Might Be Time to Completely Change Your Social Media Strategy
Jay Baer

^^ This is also not particularly difficult to do on a semi-automated basis if for example, you’re running a personal/company Wordpress blog — there are a few plugins on the market you can use to automatically syndicate links to your new content to pages and accounts on various social media platforms.

Tie that into simple, targeted Facebook Promoted Posts and Twitter Ad campaigns and even content discovery networks like Outbrain and Taboola will “spray” your brand everywhere.

Two additional points:

  1. Make sure you focus the majority of your efforts on *relevant* social media platforms. (i.e. if your market is 18–25 males, Pinterest may not give you a meaningful ROI)
  2. IMHO, begin looking into browser/desktop Push notifications as an additional potential broadcast mechanism. Newer versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari allow website visitors to subscribe to receive notifications from third parties within their browser and services/plugins exist to be able to hook directly into Wordpress (and possibily other CMSs) to automatically notify them when new content or offers are available.
