Stuffs to Do in Big Island, Hawaii
So much to do! Gonna be difficult to choose among the options! Life is so hard.
Stargaze at the Summit of Mauna Kea
There’s a reason the world’s largest telescopes are here!! Here’s one tour. The world’s biggest and most advanced $1 billion telescope is also being built here, which is a boon to the Hawaii economy.

Watch Fire & Water Collide
6 miles southwest of Kalapana — the lava runs into the ocean. Fucking cool! Maybe Lava Ocean Adventures needs some funding.

Tour a Volcanic Vineyard
I’d love to invest in a profitable vineyard! Volcano Winery is a family owned business with a pretty good story.

Hike to Flowing Lava
One of of the top things to do! See lavaaaaaaaaaaa!! Here’s one guide to the park and another guide to see lava. If (sadly) the lava is not flowing, this is the best short hike to see the cauldron with steaming vents.

“Planning far in advance to see flowing lava is nearly impossible, but start checking the USGS and Park websites about a month before your visit to see what’s going on. Check in every morning with the Park staff in the visitor’s center to hear about others’ experiences the previous day. It could be a short hike from the end of the paved road or it could be a 15 mile round trip.
Start the Hike at Lava Tubes!
The starting point to the hike mentioned above is at Thurston Lava Tube

Then... Dinner with an Epic View of a Volcano
This is one of the top things I want to do! Volcano dinner!!!!! That’s a storybook ending to a volcano hike.

Then… Sleep in a Yurt or Camper near Volcanos
Here’s a pretty unique hostel. Lova Lava Eco-Resort has an eclectic assortment of yurts and converted camper vans. Maybe they need funding?

Can’t hike to the lava? Helicopter over it
Hour-long helicopter tour offered by Blue Hawaiian. Maybe they need some funding? This is the backup plan if the lava is too far away to hike too.

Check out millions of nuts!
Hamakua Madademia Nut Company (Hawaii’s top 20 fastest growing business) and Muana Loa both offer tours of farms on the big island. Maybe one of them needs funding?

Check out millions of Kona beans!
The big island has tons of Kona coffee farms. Greenwell Farms is one that offers daily tours. I bet at least one farm needs funding.

Help Rebuild Water Bungalows
Kona Village, family-owned since the 1960’s, was wiped out in a tsunami in 2011, and the owners are rebuilding it. Maybe we can help? That would be an amazing story.

Fly in the air
Maybe UFO Parasailing needs funding!

A short hike to a hidden black sand beach
One of the best and easy short hikes on the island is to .Camp Ho’okena

Black Sand & Sea Turtles
Black sand! Sea turtle sanctuary and nesting ground! How can you go wrong? Punalu’u Black Sand Beach on the Big Island.

And then Camp on the Beach
There’s a bunch of camping spots on the Big Island. We can rent 4-person a-frame cabins at Ho’okena Beach. Or we can rent a big-ass tent, all camping gear, and a kayak from Camp Ho’okena.

Rent a Boat and Find Dolphins / Turtles
Kona Boat Rentals — 800–311–9189

Waterfall Repelling!
I promise you’ll return to SF with all your limbs intact. You might be more black and blue though…. Ok, ok, I’m guessing we won’t have time to do this. If not now, one day…. ;)
