Why Neither Corporate Party Has Control

Wow, one of the most prescient essays I’ve read on politics today; and not in The Atlantic or The New Republic. This is exactly what is going on today and the evidence for it is the ascendancy of Trump. He has no organization, and the mainstream Republic party is loath to fully support him, as they have shown again and again. Hillary actually has a lot of grass roots support too, even if it doesn’t rise to the level of Bernie fanatics (counting myself as one). But the sclerosis of both parties is evident everywhere to anyone willing to look; not the least in the still widespread apathy among the sizable (30–45%) minority of citizens who do not vote, NEVER have voted.

Good work Holly. The question now: “What is to me done?” Oh, I get it: grass roots! Nobody pays you, and the mainstream will ignore you, but you have the pleasure of connecting with your neighbors. Then we keep the pressure on Hillary once we’ve elected her. Make her WANT to do the right thing. (Or maybe we elect Warren in 2020).
