Hi Tony, the Conservative Party certainly does have several ‘democracy filters’. Must be why they distrust the (whisper it) far more representative European Parliament.

You’re spot on about taking over the party seat by seat. Although my plan could be used to create internal chaos, this isn’t the objective. In order to create a genuinely progressive forward-thinking party, you need to change the make up of its MPs. Otherwise you create a perpetual state of civil war like we have seen within the Labour Party. This may not be game-ending whilst in opposition, but hardly the well run machine the country deserves as a government.

So yes, once you’ve built a swell of members target individual constituencies by targeting local residents via Facebook/Twitter/etc who could believe in the cause. In many cases you’ll only need a few dozen additional members as the constituency memberships can be quite small. Start with safe Tory seats (a large number of these are overwhelmingly Remainer), no point in putting the work in only for another party to win the seat!
