Why people don’t put in the work!

Today I want to talk about this thing called, Grind, Hustle, Work that everyone seems to talk about.

Putting in the work is, in fact, the number one factor that will impact your career and your business. Whether you are willing to put in the 12, 14, 16, 18 hours of work. Every day, every week.
I think most people are able to put in a certain amount of work for a certain amount of time but once they don’t feel like putting in the work..they simply don’t do it and that is where it starts to get uncomfortable, and tough. Everyone is able to put in the work when they feel like it and it’s easy but once it doesn’t go as planned, people stop putting in the work. We all know this scenario from high school, college, or university.
It’s exams week so what does everyone start to do a few weeks prior? they start to study, most of them start to procrastinate.

“I still have a few weeks ago.”
“I will start next week.”
“I will start in 3 days.”
“I will start tomorrow.”

They some how manage to study for a week or two and most of them wait so long that they then have to read all of the required material in a week or some even in a few days, and then. Most of them are actually able to pull all nighter, study for many, many hours at a time but once the exam is over, they obviously stop studying and go back to old habits of partying, drinking and most importantly not studying. Most students don’t even think about it..they don’t think that if they just put in a little bit of work every day they wouldn’t have so much stress the few weeks prior to their exams.

That’s what I mean when I say that most people are able to put in work, once it’s required, but when they don’t necessarily have to do it, they won’t, even though it would help tremendously and why.because they don’t think like that. People, including me a few years a go only think short term and they don’t see the big picture in the future so they don’t put in the work. When I was in high school I was an extremely lazy student and I feel shame, because yes sure I would enjoy having better grades. I had a lot of fun during high school, but it would have been cool, being a better student in high school.

For me, everything changes once I went to university and started studying economics and management at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. I started studying a lot, I went to most of my courses and the only reason why I was able to do was that I knew that it would help me in the long term. I knew it would help me in the future. I think that it would help so many people if they thought like I did. Then people would actually want to put in the work because they would know the advantages they would have in the future but because people don’t think that way, they don’t put in the work, they simply don’t think about their future.
After saying all of that, I could be completely wrong, but that’s the way I feel about it.
I know so many people that say they want to achieve something They tell everyone around them, that they want to do something special. But when it comes down to their work ethic, it is simply not there and I wish I could tell them about their future and I could tell them what a great future they could have if they would simply put in the work.

Everyone likes to talk about the number of hours they put every day. Everyone likes to talk about how much of a hustler and hard worker they hard, but at the end of the day it comes down to the results.

Results will always show.
