Need a break from social media….
Do a digital mums social media manager course!
Back in June I embarked on a journey and I had no idea what was about to come. I think I went in a little blindly not really knowing what I was letting myself in for. I found a competition from the online shop Studio. They were giving 20 mums the opportunity to win a place on the Digital mums social media manager course. I ummed and arhed about it for several days before finally thinking oh what the hell what do I have to lose!? So I entered and was so very surprised when I won a place on the course.
I have never done anything like this since leaving school. I went straight into work and did no other further education so this was the first time in almost *whispers* 17 years!! I was so excited and so nervous. But I cannot tell you how proud I am of myself for completing it.
First and foremost if you are thinking of doing it I’ll tell you now it isn’t easy. And there will be times you will just want to give it all up but what got me through it all was my peer group. They were amazing and one conversation with them and I was back on track. It also can, as a full time mum, be a tad time consuming. If you do have smaller children I’d say be prepared to spend a lot of evenings working on the course. Like I said above you can get a little tired of looking at social media and it does take over your life for the duration of the course but what you also do is learn so much about social media you never knew existed and it pushed me so far out of my comfort zone but when it worked I can tell you it was exhilarating.
One key thing I learned was time management and organization. When it comes to launching your campaign it will REALLY help to be very well prepared. The experts are brilliant and always on hand if you need anything.
I’ve been through a lot with this course like I say at one point thinking I couldn’t complete it but as I come to the end I now feel like pass or fail I’ve achieved something that back in June I wouldn’t have thought possible. I have laughed, I have cried but more importantly, I have had so much fun and met so many amazing people who are now friends for life. So thank you Digital Mums I will never forget this experience.
