Still amazed how many of my country men that like to be cool by saying San Fran or Frisco — with-out realizing how out of place that is.

So after many years in the City or Peninsula now, a few learnings:

Replace checks with Bill Pay (or Billy as auto-correct insist in calling it), I pay with checks with-out having them (the bank actually prints and sends paper checks to the people that like them, and do electronic transfer to the others, all automagically) — almost every bank in the Bay area offers the service if you ask. I have paid rent like that for the past 5+ years. Most Americans I know have done that for a long time to mitigate all these checks…

ATM Fees — I never really use cash, spending more time in Europe now than in many years since I moved to the San Francisco Bay area, Credit Cards work everywhere in the Bay area, not so much in Europe. You can not even use non-Swedish payments cards for public transport in Sweden…
