Whoa! The writing! Totally compelling reading.
Everything I do is an attempt to silence, or escape, the impossibly cruel and exacting voice inside my head.
This really resonated. We can be so heartless with ourselves in a way we wouldn’t dream of being with others.
I’ll be reading along with you. Wishing you bon voyage for your journey.
As a fellow photographer, albeit an amateur, I totally get this. A day that will stay with you forever. Fabulous photos. And great to read how it all unfolded for you. Look forward to reading what comes next for you.
I don’t bake as often as I used to – or as often as I would like. There is a certain calm quality to baking. I love being in the middle of baking and, of course, the end result! Thanks for reminding me that I need to make time to bake. Keep on baking!
Jenn, this is really helpful! Thank you. I’ve been trying a variety of ways to manage my time and they’re either too convoluted or don’t hit the mark. I like what you say:

A great read. And I’m a fan of digital decluttering too! I have phases when I unsubscribe from practically everything. I’ve also been known to acquire domain names (and consequently email addresses) like it’s going out of fashion. I’ve been purging those this past 12 months. It just becomes another ‘thing’ to manage. I’ve copied and pasted the entire text, printed it on a sticky label and stuck it in the front of my new Codex Vitae! Thank you for sharing this great way of journaling.
Eartha Kitt was one on her own. I was privileged to see her perform in London in the 80s. I’d bought the cheapest ticket but somehow was upgraded to the front row. It was magical and I still remember the emotion in her voice as she told the back stories to the songs she was performing. I went back stage to say hello. She was a diva and I was so…
I am one of those app switchers! Or, at least, I have been! Despite using apps with lots of great functionality I find that, fairly quickly, I revert to paper and a daily list, and get much more done. I’ve been a GTD fan for a long time and, for me, that works best with pen and paper. I’ve gone much more basic recently using Google Calendar/my work…
I LOVE fountain pens. I totally get that forgetting your fountain pen and having to use a biro can ruin your day! I have a wide range of fountain pens. Inexpensive ones for work. Some only to be used at home pens. Pens for different purposes and topped up with various ink colours. I’m not sure why I have this fascination but it’s been with me since I…
