Lately this song has been running through my head, as I am reminded of how alone we all have a tendency to feel in this world. We are disconnected and searching. Looking for the face of God, looking for answers, disenfranchised. We want to find somewhere to belong, and spaces for that are few and far between.

I remember when this song came out in the 90’s, and was up for a grammy nomination. It’s lyrics bring home so many points that are still relevant today.

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

If you were able to see the face of God yourself, what would you ask? Me, I would just ask why? Why are we here? What is our purpose? There is so much lostness in this world with no answers in sight. We search the world looking for the Truth, but perhaps, we have to find it deep within ourselves.

And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
