What I’ll be reading this summer. A look at upcoming book releases by Nicole Schlinger
There are some great new releases coming out this year, both fiction and non-fiction alike. Here’s a look at what’s on my wish list:
The Making of Manager looks like the book I wish I had 20 years ago. When Julie Zhuo became a manager at the age of 25, she had no clue. Too much focus is given to “leadership” these days, and management gets short shrift. It’s no surprise in today’s “everyone gets a trophy” world, people want to be leaders, but no one wants the responsibility of managing. Don’t be fooled. It’s an important task and an important skill. Hope this is a good read. If so, I’ll be buying it for all of my new managers.

Even though it turns out Beatriz Williams is a left-wing liberal, I cannot make myself love her books any less. This one features action, adventure and espionage surrounding Wallis Simpson and Edward in Nassau after the abdication.
