Hair Mask with olive oil, honey, egg and castor oil

Last week, I felt the need to prepare a moisturizing hair mask. Peaks were visibly worn, so I knew I had to go to an hair saloon, but I wanted to deeply hydrate the hair and revitalize it’s condition.

I remembered a mask that I make very rare but works every time, and I thought it would be time to implement it.

It is the hair mask with olive oil, honey and egg yolk which add according to supply at that time, vitamin A and castor oil.

Why using these ingredients?

Olive oil is rich in vitamins A and E, and polyphenols (natural antioxidants) so that it is useful even for moisturizing hair and scalp.

Honey is valuable in its content of water soluble vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12, — all kindergarten Bs as you can see: P, vitamin C, PP) folic acid, vitamin K, provitamins A and more. Honey for hair is beneficial because it provides strength hair and makes it softer and easier to comb.

Vitamin A is essential for normal oily retina and has role in regulating the growth and differentiation of epithelial tissues . It is used successfully for skin, nails and to stop hair loss.

Castor oil is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory role. It has numerous benefits, but the ones I want to mention as related to the topic post, are hair growth, prevent dry scalp, preventing splitting peaks and thickening hair.

Egg yolk contains a number of vitamins and minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, vitamins A, B6, B12, D, E, K) and amino acids. It can be a inexpensive balm for dry hair with lacking vitality, and its use in hair masks should be constant (at least 1 time per week).

Quantity of each ingredient varies depending on the thickness and length of hair. For long hair and thick thread, use a cup of olive oil, about 15 ml of castor oil (2 tbsp) 7–8 drops of vitamin A, 2 tablespoons of honey, one egg yolk.

First place both oils in a ceramic bowl, warm it slightly in the microwave (it should be just a little warm to better penetrate the hair cuticle), mix egg separately and then put over heated oils, and finally add honey.

This mask, because of it’s vitamins and minerals it contains, is more useful for the scalp, but it also has moisturizing properties, so you can apply it on the entire hair. If you think it tangles your hair too much, use it only on root or on tip of the hair.

Leave the hair mask in your hair as much as possible, even a few hours if it’s possible. Then rinse with warm water and then use a hair conditioner for 2–3 minutes.

The hair will get a very nice gloss and you will not be felt it at all dry. I think it’s an ideal mask for all types of hair (blond, damaged, split ends, lacking vitality and luster, .. etc) and after constant use, contribute to its regeneration.
