Wildflower | POEM

There are people we love in our lives
Where we hope and wish that they would be
A version of themselves we thought they would choose
Because if you loved me, you would be

But they are a weed
Untamed and wild
Dancing in the wind
Lost in the crowd

Never there when in need
Sometimes they in fact strangle
They are not an ideal
Their love often tangles

So I will bury and mourn over
The death of who I wished they could be
I will love you for who you are
You be that wildflower and free
