I teach millennials. Sadly, so many of them have such a limited knowledge of life beyond the bubble that surrounds the space covered by the circumference of their outstretched arms. I frequently facepalm in class during discussions and (jokingly but not really) tell them they are going to make me cry. Then I demand they look up whatever info they had no clue about when I asked the question.
Like you, I don’t want to be cruel and pile on to people with such limited perspectives, but damn. It’s hard not to sometimes, especially considering how easy it is to see other life experiences online and in the news these days. It’s unsettlingly annoying sometimes.
