An End of an Era

The day has come. It finally happened 😪. I knew this day was going to be here eventually, and that once it did I wouldn’t be able to eat any longer…. because there is no more food 😩!

The day has come that my children are able to reach the highest shelf in the pantry 😲. This is the shelf that held all the easy snacks, school snacks and special treats!

One of the struggles of being a boy-mom is keeping the grocery bill under control. I’ve meant to portion out our food, meal prep, freeze ahead, etc. I have grand ideas of having a low grocery budget and saving the extra cash at the end of the month for a date night away with my husband 😍. I used to coupon…. but somewhere between kid 2 and 3 I became lucky if I remembered to make a list, let alone bring it along with me… AND remember the coupons.

Now that the 3 little monkeys 🙈 🙉 🙊 can help themselves with super ninja stealth ability I am being forced to rethink my anything goes “strategy,” beginning with meal prep and planning. My first ally will be the cookbook “Don’t Panic! Dinner’s in the Freezer.”

Hopefully all the cooking this week will pay off in a cooking free week in my future, lower grocery bills (at least for dinner), and less stress at dinner times during crazy busy weeks! I’ll let you know! 😉
