Hey Harald, thanks for the input!

Actually in many states/countries, marriage (and divorce) registries are already publicly accessible. Names, dates, and even other details are not encrypted.

This is good in cases where I need to research if personX who just proposed to me is already married. ;)

I do agree that everyone should have a choice whether their personal data is publicly declared, especially when the state is making the decision for them.
