Sleep deprivation is not a badge of honor

I Could not agree more. I had an intern that worked for me awhile back and she/he would talk about all her/his all nighter coding on their open source projects.

However it was quickly noticeable how grumpy, confrontational and lack of quality code he/she would produce the days after.

Eventually she/he would not mention their all nighters, but I quickly knew their was an issue by checking their GitHub profile. Thank you GitHub, because we would view it to determine when avoid him/her. Which was not good for productivity at work.

I know when I would not get enough sleep getting up in the middle of night with a newborn, I was not a good person to be around.

You can only imagine the arguments we would get in when she/he would debate me on how to solve a problem when both were sleep deprived.

Thanks for the great article!
