Sausage or Sizzle?

So in New Zealand everyone knows what a sausage sizzle is. The rest of the world not so much (except Australia where you probably know it as a ‘Snag’). So for the uninitiated or those who don’t live looking up at the rest of the world I’ll enlighten you quickly. A sausage sizzle is technically a fund-raising type event (or at least an attraction to bring people in to an event when free) where patrons are offered the finest pre-cooked sausages barbecued and wrapped in a slice of white bread. Yes, onions are offered, and ketchup and mustard are the standard condiments of choice. Think hot dog on a budget (unless you’re in NZ where hot dog is actually a sausage on a stick… hey, I didn’t make up the lingo). Whilst technically the event is the sausage sizzle, we tend to think of the budget hot dog itself as a sausage sizzle too. So there you have it, everyone up to speed.

The question isn’t really about BBQ techniques or content though, it’s about your learning content (and pretty much applicable to other content too, but my focus remains almost unbroken). When you put together your learning or training materials there’s quite rightly a lot of focus on what goes in to it. If the content were the sausage sizzle, we’re talking about the sausage.
