Hey Zainab, this is timely. My startup is Mumbai-based and so I can’t speak for Bangalore startups in particular, but I think this applies broadly. One thing we try to do is to have at least one woman from the company attend events. Our industry, fintech/financial services, sees depressingly low numbers of women at industry events (possibly more so than tech). Like Aditi mentioned, women speakers are the way to go. But we have seen that even building visibility can go a long way.
