I fall for the same trick every time. It’s a simple workshop about testing that reminds me about the movie Wolf of Wallstreet.

I eagerly get to it. Take off the cap and draw something on the paper. Then I try it on the table surface. Then it occurs to me to see if the pen is eraseable and notice it is. Seems like whiteboard marker to me.

Then the question falls down on the attendees. How do you know what to expect? How do you know that it should be eraseable?

Busted! Again!

In order to do my job like a pro, I first need to gather the relevant information. Otherwise I just end up playing the game by my hunch and some luck. Those are not professional factors.

For your results to become interesting to the people you serve, you first need to become interested in what interests them.

The better you understand their business, goals and desires, the better you can satisfy their needs.

Results that interest others arise from an interest in what interests other.
