Superheros of software testing.

Do you still remember Mel Gibson’s Lethal Weapon movies? Or the ones where Bruce Willis just won’t die? What about Tim Burton’s gloomy and rainy Gotham City. And the hope kindling Bat signal among the hanging veil of clouds? Who ya gonna call?

Action movies have throughout time had a plot that fascinates this tester’s imagination. Small time criminals creep around in dark alleys in the middle of the night from New York to Metropolis. Lucky for us, the police know their stuff. They enforce the law and make sure the day to day life is smooth.

The job of Commissioner Gordon and his colleagues is to observe and patrol. To see if something should change. Is the letter of the law followed? Are agreements respected?

Ultimately, peace gets upset. It always does.

Enter a criminal boss, an arch nemesis, who displays his or her twisted, sneering, countenance. The crime gets organized to fight, and the police are powerless to stop them. The fate of the future is hanging by a thread.

Victory will not come cheap. One needs to take up dirty measures, and the hero needs to put his or her reputation on the line! Working in the shadows to catch the criminals might even make the police chase the hero instead. Remember The Dark Knight?

Vermin do not respect law or rules, so why should you?

Among whose ranks should you stand today, dear tester? Gordon’s or Batman’s?
